Think back to a recent book you couldn’t put down or an old favorite you’ve revisited—and rediscovered in a way that made it once again feel brand new.
This is exactly how I felt upon taking in an overall update from Tom Farrey, founder and executive director of the Aspen Institute’s Sports & Society Program. Upon reading 2015’s initial Project Play report (“Sport for All, Play for Life: A Playbook to Get Every Kid in the Game”), I knew I wanted to play a small part in amplifying its overall mission.
11 years later, as Tom lays out, Project Play has evolved from an idea to a movement, and I encourage anyone who supports a more inclusive, positive youth sports landscape to dig into its incredible work.
